Tad's PTSD was triggered today and he couldn't stop engaging with the anonymous texter. Once he succeeded in blocking the texts, he was just very sad. He wanted to talk to Jo so much. He couldn't make himself text her.

He's very much feeling like a burden right now. With Jo. With Saini. Even with Ken.

At least he didn't recognize Tessa again.

That's not to say there's not still a concern for Tessa. Once Tad was left alone, he was hallucinating her. Just standing there (or sitting in his tow truck) looking at him with disapproval. He would recognize her, turn away, look back at nothing, and automatically forget what she looked like or what her name was. He's only left with a lingering need that he doesn't quite understand.

He ended up calling it quits early with towing. He went and sat at the lighthouse for a few hours. Just waiting to see if whatever man who apparently makes deals would show up. If he could potentially make Ken a god, could he give Tad back his memories and remove them from this handler instead? Will Tad always be left with the feeling of trying to lift a face out of the water and having it slip from his hands only to reform somewhere else?

None of this would have been an issue if he hadn't been curious and texted back the number that had stopped texting already.
